The government has announced that the temporary arrangements for carrying out right to work checks have been extended again and will now end on 5 April 2022.

This means that checks can continue to be carried out over video calls and job applicants and existing workers can send scanned documents or a photograph of documents for checks using email or a mobile app, rather than sending originals.

There is also the Home Office Employer Checking Service available for employers where a prospective or existing employee is unable to provide the documents due to an outstanding appeal, review or application with the Home Office, or any other reasons set out: Home Office Employer Checking Service  and the employee agrees to the online check being carried out.
